What We Believe
Statement Of Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life; that He performed miracles; that by His death on the cross He made provisions for the redemption of men from sin; that He ascended into heaven to the right hand of God; and that He will return in power and glory to judge the world and complete His redemptive purpose.
We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired men to write the Scriptures, enables men to understand the truth, exalts Christ, convicts of sin, calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. We believe He empowers believers to live Godly lives, comforts believers, and bestows spiritual gifts on believers by which they serve Him.
We believe that, for the salvation of the lost and sinful people, regeneration (the conviction of sin, repentance toward God, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ) by the Holy Spirit is essential. Salvation is not the result of good works.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. We believe the saved are resurrected unto everlasting life and the lost are resurrected unto eternal condemnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of redeemed believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the scriptural importance of church membership.
We believe every Christian is under obligation to seek to make the will of God supreme in his own life and in human society. We believe it is our responsibility and privilege to minister to those who are orphaned, in need, and helpless, being careful to act with redemptive love without compromising our loyalty to Christ and His truth.
Bible Belief Statement
The Bible is the divinely inspired written Word of God. Because it is inspired throughout, it is completely free from error---scientifically, historically, theologically, and morally. Thus it is the absolute authority in all matters of truth, faith, and conduct. The final guide to the interpretation of the Bible is the Bible itself.
God’s world must always agree with God’s Word because the Creator of the one is the Author of the other. Thus, where physical evidence from the creation may be used to confirm the Bible, this evidence must never be used to correct or interpret the Bible. The written Word must take priority in the event of any apparent conflict.
All things were supernaturally created by the Triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – during the creation week (six literal days) described in Genesis. Each basic type of plant and animal was specifically created “after its kind” by God. None came from non-living substances nor developed from some other plant or animal. God pronounced everything “very good” at the end of Creation Week.
The first human beings, Adam and Eve, were specially created by God; all other men and women are their descendants. The entrance of sin into the world, through Adam, brought God’s curse on all creation, resulting in death and separation from God. There was no suffering or death in the world before Adam’s sin.
The Biblical record is fully historical, including the recent creation of all things, the fall, the curse, the great flood (worldwide in extent and effect), and the dispersion at Babel. This written revelation provides the only reliable framework for scientific research into the origin of all things.
Faith Family Church fully accepts and endorses the above statement as the foundation of understanding required to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, knowing the Doctrines of Creator and Creation cannot be removed from the Gospel. The separation of man from God can only be remedied by our reconciliation with God through faith in and commitment to Jesus Christ the Creator, as Lord and Savior. This reconciliation is only possible because His substitutionary death and bodily resurrection paid the price for our sins.
